Our Vision

Our Vision….

Mindful Dogs assists those with mental health concerns to procure, train and certify psychiatric assistance dogs. These dogs assist people with mental health disorders whose lives are often severely compromised by anxiety and fear.

With a Mindful Dog, you will be able to travel together on public transport, access public places and take part in social activities which may have been previously closed off to you. Our vision is to create an easy and smooth process, to enable your companion dog to become a qualified Psychiatric Assistance Dog.

Any assistance or service dog is covered under the Federal Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA). This Act allows a trained assistance dog to assist their handler in public and is guaranteed access to all public places including shopping centres, hospitals (except operating theatres and other areas where strict hygiene is of concern), public transport and restaurants. The DDA, an assistance dog is trained to alleviate the effect of a disability and must meet standards of hygiene and behaviour.
